Characters from other times will ride on board Porto's historic streetcars this Monday, March 27, the World Theatre Day, in an initiative organized by STCP and the Tram Museum
Between 2pm and 6pm, all those who decide to travel on Line 1 (Infante-Passeio Alegre) or Line 18 (Carmo-Passeio Alegre) will have the opportunity to watch a theatrical intervention, performed by resident actors, dressed as period characters who will interact with the public.
Sitting next to a peasant girl born in 1895, delighted to ride an electric car for the first time, chatting with a fishmonger returning from a long day of work at the fish market, or listening to poetry by the voice of Fernando Pessoa are some of the situations planned for Monday afternoon.
The characters will share several curiosities about this secular means of transportation, information that can be enriched and deepened with a visit to the Museu do Carro Eléctrico. The Tram Museum is located in the building of the old Thermoelectric Plant of Massarelos (1915) and is recognized as a privileged showcase of Porto's tramways, sharing with all those who visit the history and memory of a unique heritage.
