After the chaos FAP forced to change entry and payment rules

After several people complained about the lack of organization in the entrance and payment methods to Queima das Fitas, Federação Académica do Porto (FAP) had to change some rules

On social networks some images and comments were shared with complaints, mainly at the time of entry of the Queimódromo and operation of the payment system.

According to Lusa, one person, for example, says he arrived at the venue at the time of the opening of the doors, at 00h, "but that he could not enter "because of an endless queue to exchange the ticket for a wristband and another to enter", eventually giving up by 2:30 am".

"Another shares that she spent "over two hours in line to get in", complaining about the time wasted "to exchange tickets for wristbands when in fact the wristbands don't even work"".

In a statement, the FAP says that it detected "constraints underlying the course of the event, related with access to the enclosure and with the use of the "cashless" system [without recourse to money or card, and in this case through a wristband]".

According to the organisation, a series of measures were "promptly" taken, "in order to provide the best experience for users of the Queima das Fitas do Porto 2023".

"To improve the conditions of entry to the venue, the FAP proceeded to a "reinforcement of the signage and a clear identification of the entrance doors", to the "change of the location of door 2, passing this access to be made next to the Main Stage", and to the "creation of dedicated corridors to each door, allowing a fluid access to the venue and in complete articulation with the security forces"".

"Besides the entry with a wristband, the entry with a physical or digital ticket will be allowed, and the wristband can be picked up at the charging stations inside the venue", explains the organisation, underlining that "this way, there will be no need to exchange the ticket for a wristband".

Since the entrance to the venue can be made without the wristband, inside the Queimódromo "the payments will be made in a hybrid way: through "cashless" and the normal means of payment (cash and others)".

The FAP also appeals "to the understanding for these measures by all the people who have acquired and will acquire tickets for the Queima das Fitas of Porto 2023, an event in constant transformation, in order to better provide an experience that is unique and memorable for the students of the Academy of Porto".
