The baths at the beach of Matosinhos, in the district of Porto, were advised against this Thursday due to microbiological values above the reference parameters in water, told Lusa the captain of the port of Douro.
This situation forced the red flag to be raised and warnings to be placed in the accesses to this beach in the Porto district, said Silva Rocha.

Also on Tuesday, the beach of Castelo do Queijo, in Porto, was banned to bathing for the same reason advanced, on occasion, the National Maritime Authority (AMN).
"The beach of Castelo do Queijo, in the municipality of Porto, was banned to bathing today after analysis of water quality, carried out by the Portuguese Environment Agency, revealed microbiological values above the reference parameters, and the water is unsuitable for bathing," he said in a statement.
Last week, also in the district of Porto, and due to microbiological values above the reference parameters, five beaches in Vila Nova de Gaia and one in Póvoa de Varzim were banned to bathing.
Further south, in the district of Aveiro, five beaches were banned in Espinho.
