"Connect for Ukraine Festival takes place between August 24 and 28 in Oeiras"
CTT - Correios de Portugal (the Portuguese postal service) is selling tickets for the 'Connect For Ukraine' solidarity festival, which will take place in Oeiras, between August 24 and 28. Organized by the Ukrainian Refugees Association UAPT, which was born in February this year, the initiative is presented as another gesture of solidarity with the Ukrainian people.
The festival will take place at the Mário Wilson Municipal Stadium, in Oeiras, and its main mission is to unite everyone's energy in the name of peace and, symbolically, a human flag will be built to mark Ukrainian Independence Day, celebrated on August 24.
The program includes national and international artists such as Martinho da Vila, Áurea, Luís Represas, Matias Damásio, Paula Toller, Claúdia Leitte, Dj Bárbara Labres, Dj Pete Tha Zouk, Orquestra Ibérica, and Ukrainian artists such as Anna Trincher, Kola, Dzidzio, Oleksandr, Ponomariov, and Iryna Fedyshyn.
Tickets are on sale at the CTT Stores Network and CTT Points. The daily ticket costs 20 euros, the general pass can be purchased for 60 euros.
Since Russia invaded Ukraine, Ukraine Refuges UAPT has transported displaced people and sent humanitarian aid to the country, and has been responsible for the six humanitarian planes chartered to fly between Poland and Portugal. It currently maintains a support center in Lisbon with several facilities and a reception center in Mafra for orphaned children.
In February, CTT launched a solidarity campaign to help the Ukrainian people by collecting clothes, articles and essential goods. With the help of all Portuguese people, 40 tons of donations reached the war refugees.
