The municipality of Matosinhos has 12 beaches along its seafront that have been awarded the ‘Accessible Beach’ label, with facilities that make it easier for people with reduced mobility to use the area.

These are the beaches of Angeiras Norte, Angeiras Sul, Pedras do Corgo, Agudela, Quebrada, Marreco, Memória, Cabo do Mundo, Aterro, Leça da Palmeira and Matosinhos. These beaches offer facilities such as reserved parking, direct access to the sand, walkways and adapted toilet facilities.

In addition, there are 10 beaches equipped with amphibious wheelchairs, making it easier to move around on the sand and access the water. These are the beaches of Angeiras Norte, Pedras do Corgo, Aguedela, Quebrada, Marreco, Memória, Cabo do Mundo, Fuzelhas, Leça da Palmeira and Matosinhos.

The use of amphibious wheelchairs requires an accompanying person and may be subject to weather and sea conditions.
