Efanor School in 3rd place in the Schools Ranking

Data from the Ministry of Education according to the average marks in the national exams taken in 2023/24. See here the position of the various schools in Matosinhos, in a ranking once again dominated by public schools.



Colégio Efanor, in Matosinhos, obtained an average score of 16.23 in the Ranking of Schools, the third highest in the country, in relation to national exam grades for the 2023/24 school year.

The ranking includes secondary school exams, totalling 167 taken at the school, which dropped three places from the previous year.

The first two places were taken by Colégio da Nossa Senhora do Rosário and Grande Colégio Universal, both from Porto, with 16.42 and 16.37 respectively.

Among the other schools in Matosinhos, João Gonçalves Zarco Secondary School came 59th, with an average of 12.78; Augusto Gomes Secondary School, Matosinhos came 263rd, followed by Boa Nova Secondary School in 264th, both with 11.20; Padrão da Légua Primary and Secondary School came 287th, with an average of 11.10; Abel Salazar Secondary School came 356th, with an average of 10.76; and finally Senhora da Hora Secondary School came 429th, with 10.35.

The lowest average in Portugal was the Baixa da Banheira Secondary School in Moita, in 529th place with an average of 7.04.

It's worth remembering that last school year, 11th graders took national exams again for the purposes of applying to higher education and also for completing subjects. The 12th graders kept the pandemic rules and only took exams to apply to university.
