European Society of Cardiology recognizes Laboratory of Matosinhos Hospital

The ULSM Echocardiography Laboratory becomes a reference center at a national and European level.

The Echocardiography Laboratory of the Local Health Unit of Matosinhos (ULSM) is now accredited by the European Society of Cardiology, according to ULSM.

Cardiologists Daniel Seabra and Nuno Moreno recognize that this was "a demanding process", but believe that this accreditation will allow "new advances in cardiac evaluation", taking into account the "importance of image in decision making".

The Echocardiography Laboratory thus becomes a reference center at a national and European level, thus allowing "a new dynamic of participation in research projects and collaboration with various centers in different countries".

The accreditation is valid until 2027 and experts believe that the Laboratory, which is physically located at Hospital Pedro Hispano, will also have the capacity to respond to primary health care.
