New data was revealed about the Fuse Valley project, presented in September 2021, which will be installed in the municipality of Matosinhos

At stake is a partnership between Castro Group and Farfetch for a new development, which will start construction at the end of this year.
Although the initial forecast was to open at the end of 2025, the licensing process has meant that the opening of the complex will take place in the second half of 2026.
The Fuse Valley will have a total of 24 buildings, including offices, hotel, restaurants, retail and green spaces. This is "a project designed not only for the people who will work there every day, but also for the local community, which will be able to enjoy its squares, gardens and amenities," the group said.
The project also includes a space for shared residences: "we want to have 150 units for the Fuse Valley Residence, which will be divided into one or two buildings. The only reason we haven't created more is because we know that supply will increase a lot around Fuse Valley", reveals Paulo Castro, Castro Group CEO, to ECO newspaper.
A new metro station for the Green Line (C) is also being planned as part of this new development: "The line runs 150 metres from the development. We intended to build a new metro station. This would greatly improve our performance in this area", he says.
If a Fuse Valley station were to be created, employees would no longer have to get off at Araújo and Custió stations, which are about a kilometre from the site. To make commuting easier they also intend to create bus routes and implement bicycle connections.
The CEO underlines that what they will "do in Matosinhos is something unique" and "puts this space on the international map of what is best done both in terms of sustainability and in terms of innovation". "With this project, we intend to develop a smart city, or in this case, a smart valley," he adds.
To the same newspaper, Paulo Castro, explains that the entry into the market will be "at a time when the issue of the offices of the future will already be more consolidated. So will hybrid work". The focus is on "technology companies, which are going through a troubled moment. If we entered now, it would be more complicated", he admits.
The construction of Fuse Valley will take place in two phases, with the first being concluded in the second half of 2026 and the second in 2030. The investment is about 200 million euros, divided between Castro Group and Farfetch.
