Meeting Places MAR Shopping promotes preventive health actions between March and April
Between March and April, MAR Shopping Algarve and MAR Shopping Matosinhos promote free health screenings and monitoring of acupuncture, cardiovascular and diabetes. Aiming to raise awareness in the communities where they are located, the actions have the importance of early detection of health indicators that require medical monitoring, as well as to advise for good practices in matters of health and well-being.
Recommended and encouraged by the WHO (World Health Organization), acupuncture is a therapy that makes it possible to correct certain dysfunctions or disease conditions. On March 25 and 26, MAR Shopping Algarve promotes free screening of the ancient practice as an incentive to preventive health, in partnership with the HPA Clinic. The initiative will take place between 11am and 7pm.
With the application of needles in precise anatomical locations, the therapy triggers different effects on the body, such as analgesic or anti-inflammatory action. Acupuncture has been indicated as a treatment for different musculoskeletal pathologies, such as hip and knee arthrosis, low back pain, chronic shoulder pain, tension headaches and dysmenorrhea (menstrual pain).
MAR Shopping: monitoring cardiovascular diseases and diabetes
In the North, within the scope of health prevention for the population, MAR Shopping Matosinhos will also be holding free screenings, but of prevention and monitoring of cardiovascular diseases and diabetes, on March 25 and 26 and then again on April 1 and 2. The actions will be carried out by students of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Coimbra and will take place on floor zero, in a space next to the LEGO® Fan Factory and Farmácia do Mar, between 11am and 7pm and are part of a project for prevention and monitoring of cardiovascular diseases and diabetes that is operational on national territory.
