A total of 3,097 drones were in the air at the same time.

The name Matosinhos has gone down in the history of the Guinness Book of Records. At Titan Beach, during the Air Invictus event on 19 June, the world record for the simultaneous flight of drones was broken, with a total of 3,097 drones.
The choreographed display, organised by the Spanish company Drone Art Studios, lit up the skies and delighted the thousands of people in attendance, featuring images evoking Portugal and the ‘undefeated city’, with representations of the city’s historic monuments.
The record was awarded on the spot by a representative from the Guinness World Records organisation, who confirmed the achievement, surpassing the previous record of 3,050 drones.
According to a study by the Faculty of Economics of Porto, the event – which involved several municipalities in the district – could generate an economic return of up to 100 million euros.
