Matosinhos athletes with distinguished results at the Olympic Games

Four athletes from Matosinhos took part in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

Four athletes from Matosinhos took part in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Angélica André, Diogo Costa, Mafalda Pires de Lima and Nancy Moreira.

Angélica André came 12th in the Open Water Swimming, completing the 10km in 2h06min, guaranteeing Portugal's best ever finish in this event.

Diogo Costa, together with Carolina João, came 5th in the Sailing Mixed Dinghy, securing an Olympic Diploma for Portugal.

Sailor Mafalda Pires de Lima made her Olympic debut with 14th place in the Kite discipline.

Finally, Cape Verdean boxer Nancy Moreira lost her first fight, despite winning the first round against world champion Oshin Derieuw.

Portugal ended its participation in Paris with four medals and 14 Olympic diplomas.
