The City Parties are back to their traditional format, after two years marked by the constraints imposed by the pandemic.

The opening of the pilgrimage was marked last night with the inauguration of the traditional lighting of Senhor de Matosinhos.
In addition to the abundance and carousels, the Handicraft Fair and the Louça Fair, fireworks and fireworks, there will be exhibitions, concerts for all musical tastes, theatre, dance, cinema, parades, among many other activities.
The great attraction of the pilgrimage is the devotion to Senhor de Matosinhos. On June 5th, at 4:00 pm, the Solemn Procession of Bom Jesus de Matosinhos will start, which will travel through several arteries towards the Monument of Senhor do Padrão.
The day before, June 4th, there will be the traditional midnight fireworks session.
On the municipal holiday, on the 7th of June, the highlight is the Solemn Eucharist of the Feast of Bom Jesus de Matosinhos, at 11:00 am, presided over by Bishop Manuel Linda, in the Church of Bom Jesus de Matosinhos. On the same day, at 4 pm, there will be the launch of the book “Senhor de Matosinhos. Contar a Festa” by Germano Silva and Alfredo Mendes, in the Salão Nobre dos Paços do Concelho. At 19:00, but in the garden of Parque 25 de Abril, the traditional fire of the puppets will take place.
