In the 2023 bathing season, Quercus awards the "Beach with Gold Quality" prize to 393 national beaches, 47 less than in 2022
Of the 393 awarded beaches, 327 are coastal, 56 inland and 10 transitional. All the regions of the country show a decrease in the number of beaches awarded, being the North Region the one that registered the greatest decrease.
In the municipality of Matosinhos nine coastal beaches were awarded this year with this Gold Quality distinction: Angeiras, Agudela, Cabo do Mundo, Funtão, Marreco, Memória, Pedras Brancas, Pedras do Corgo and Quebrada.
Remember that in the previous year, in the distinctions attributed in 2022, there were 14 beaches distinguished by Quercus in the municipality.
