The innovative program aims to create the figure of the manager, through the involvement of the residents, being seen as an alternative model to manage the common spaces in the municipality's housing developments.
In order to promote and complement its action with local intervention projects to enhance inclusion, well-being and quality of life of residents, MatosinhosHabit launches the program "Entry Manager of housing developments in the municipality of Matosinhos". According to Manuela Álvares, president of the Board of Directors of MatosinhosHabit, "the Entry Manager project aims to foster the participation of residents, their accountability and involvement in the management and preservation of common spaces, as well as to promote the positive appropriation of the building and public spaces in order to promote social inclusion, empowerment and autonomy, the harmonization of neighborhood relations, the sense of identity, belonging and cultural appreciation," she explains.
The figure of the "Entry Manager" is based on the concept of proximity management, being seen as an innovative element in establishing new forms of communication between MatosinhosHabit and the residents of the various Conjuntos Habitacionais. The initiative presents itself as an alternative model for managing common spaces that stimulates the inclusion of residents in the space where they live and, at the same time, encourages coexistence and the strengthening of neighborhood ties.
Imbued with a spirit of citizenship and social entrepreneurship, the MatosinhosHabit program can also help in changing routines and adopting energy efficiency, hygiene and safety measures that are elementary to community life.
