The second phase had a deadline of 31 December 2024, but the company asked for it to be postponed for another year. The route will run to Anémona, on a route that will take 17 minutes from Casa da Música.

Metro do Porto has requested that the construction of the metrobus to Matosinhos be postponed until 31 December 2025, ‘in order to safeguard all invoicing and payments relating to the extension of the line, as well as the contract for the supply of vehicles and the hydrogen plant’, according to the office of Miguel Pinto Luz, Minister of Infrastructure.
The initial execution deadline was 31 December, but the process has been ‘judicially suspended’ due to claims by the bidders for the second phase.
The metrobus service will connect Casa da Música, near the Boavista roundabout, to Praça do Império, a journey that will take 12 minutes. The connection to Matosinhos, which won't be completed until the end of 2025, is expected to take 17 minutes.
The other stations planned are Guerra Junqueiro, Bessa, Pinheiro Manso, Serralves, João de Barros and Império, on the first service, and on the second Antunes Guimarães, Garcia de Orta, Nevogilde, Castelo do Queijo and Praça Cidade do Salvador (Anémona).
The entire metrobus project will cost approximately 76 million euros.
