Debate session took place at the Matosinhos Memory Museum in Matosinhos
Matosinhos received last Friday, the 17th of February, a public debate session of the Version Zero of the Metropolitan Charter for Culture, in which the Alderman of Culture, Fernando Rocha, was present.
The invitation to the debate was made to the community by the Metropolitan Area of Porto (AMP) and the Municipalities that integrate it (Arouca, Espinho, Gondomar, Maia, Matosinhos, Oliveira de Azeméis, Paredes, Porto, Póvoa de Varzim, Santa Maria da Feira, São João da Madeira, Santo Tirso, Trofa, Vale de Cambra, Valongo, Vila do Conde and Vila Nova de Gaia).
The Metropolitan Charter for Culture intends to be the main instrument for the elaboration, execution and analysis of the cultural policies of the Metropolitan Area of Porto, in order to advise a better way of being, thinking, doing and guiding Culture, based on a set of Principles and Priority Areas of Action shared by all its subscribers.
The zero version, which can be consulted on the Área Metropolitana do Porto site (http://portal.amp.pt/media/documents/2022/07/29/CartaMetropolitanaCultura_VERSAOERO.pdf) is the result of a consultation and dialogue effort started in May 2022 with the municipalities, cultural agents, academia, and the community, and which is intended to be open, participative, and continuous.
