Monoxide poisoning victims transferred to Matosinhos

A woman and two minor daughters who suffered, in the early hours of yesterday, an intoxication by carbon monoxide, in Paredes, were transferred from the Hospital of Penafiel to the Hospital Pedro Hispano, in Matosinhos, told Lusa hospital source



According to the source, the three victims are being assisted in the hyperbaric medicine service of that hospital unit. A third minor, 2 years, has already been discharged, while an adult man, also a victim of the same incident, remains at the Hospital of Penafiel, to undergo tests.

According to firefighters, they all suffered from carbon monoxide poisoning that was allegedly caused by a water heater in the house located in Travessa do Penedo in Rebordosa, in the municipality of Paredes, district of Porto.

The victims had been transported to the hospital in Penafiel by the Rebordosa Fire Department, as part of the occurrence recorded at 00:39. The children are between 2 and 12 years old and the adults between 40 and 45 years old.
