The IX Congress of the Pessoas-Animais-Natureza (PAN) will be held on May 20, in Matosinhos, the organising committee told Lusa, at a time when Inês Sousa Real and Nelson Silva have already announced candidates for party leadership.
According to the coordinator of the organising committee of the 9th Congress, Marta Correia, the delegates will meet at the Basic School of Matosinhos, Porto district, and the date and venue were unanimously approved at a meeting of the National Political Commission held on Thursday evening.
When questioned about the fact that the main meeting will have only one day (the last one had two), the coordinator replied that this is due to the "current moment of the party", namely at the financial level.
The agenda "is still being drawn up", she said, but the regulations have already been approved, also unanimously.
According to the regulations of the IX Congress of the PAN, the candidate lists for the National Political Commission (the broadest political management body), and the respective Global Strategy Motion, should be presented to the organising committee until April 21, and "are composed of 27 effective members and a minimum of 12 substitutes".
