Passes sold on Transportes Intermodais do Porto have already exceeded the figures recorded "before the pandemic"
The Fare Reduction Support Programme in Public Transport was the main driver of this record.
According to the transport authority, cited by Jornal de Notícias, 2.62 million passes were sold in 2022, thus surpassing the 2.37 million passes sold in 2019. This rise is due to the fact that more people have acquired the pass, "following the funding of the price decrease".
Regarding the sale of individual tickets, "27.3 million were purchased in the Metropolitan Area of Porto in 2019, while 22.62 million tickets were sold in 2022".
