The Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport is once again in the spotlight, after being distinguished with the "Best European Airport 2022" award, in its 10-25 million passengers category, positioning itself, now, in the "top 5" of the best ranked in Europe.
According to the news portal of the municipality of Porto, the ranking was prepared by the vacation rental search engine Holidu, "based on a massive extraction of ratings and comments from Google Maps," where travelers "valued the technology, the spaciousness of the spaces and the gastronomic offer.
Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport is among the three best evaluated in Europe, only supplanted by Athens and Zurich, followed by Alicante - Elche and Malta airports.
The focus on route development made it possible to achieve, this year, connectivity values higher than those of 2019, along with the attractiveness of the Northern region.
The achievement of very positive traffic recovery results contributed to the increase in connectivity, since "Porto Airport has already surpassed the level verified in the summer of 2019, and 100 regular routes are now available," the platform of the Porto municipality also indicates.
