The district of Porto is this Wednesday under yellow warning due to the forecast of periods of rain sometimes heavy. The alert remains until 15h00, according to the Portuguese Institute of Sea and Atmosphere
Given the worsening weather conditions, the National Authority for Emergency and Civil Protection (ANEPC) issued a warning, which alerts the population for the "forecast rainfall across the territory, sometimes strong in Minho and Douro Litoral especially on Wednesday morning, gradually moving to showers from the afternoon and may be hail in northern and central regions until late Thursday morning (March 09)," reads the news advanced by Notícias ao Minuto.
Also the forecast of showers in Porto, sometimes strong, and may be hail and accompanied by thunderstorms put the district in yellow alert until 12:00. This is joined by the districts of Braga, Aveiro and Viana do Castelo.
The possibility of flooding in urban areas, flooding, dragging loose objects onto roads and / or detachment of mobile or poorly secured structures are some of the occurrences that may be recorded during these two days, warns the Civil Protection.
The authority asks, thus, redoubled care to the population, especially during periods of driving.
