Municipal housing company plans to recover 100 uninhabited houses by the end of 2023
MatosinhosHabit will start the rehabilitation of 5 more vacant houses, under the Framework Agreement for the Rehabilitation of Vacant Houses in the Housing Park of the Municipality of Matosinhos.
These residences join the 20 that have already been under construction since last March. By the end of this year, it is expected that approximately 100 vacant houses will be recovered.
The houses vary between one and two bedrooms and will be completely renovated, being later made available for allocation to families in a situation of economic-financial fragility, who are on the waiting list of the programme for social housing requests of MatosinhosHabit. The works will have an average execution period of 45 days, after the consignation of the works.
In addition to housing rehabilitation, MatosinhosHabit and the Matosinhos Municipality are working on an investment plan of around 85 million euros for the construction of approximately 500 social housing units by 2026.
