S. Mamede de Perafita

This year's flower rugs were a call for world peace

The parish of S. Mamede de Perafita celebrated its patron saint's feast last July 3 with a solemn mass in the morning and a procession on a carpet of flowers in the afternoon.

During the dawn of Saturday to Sunday, the tradition was fulfilled again in Perafita and hundreds of hands prepared the rugs that received the honors to S Mamede de Perafita.

This year, and in a sense of peace appeal, the flowers were worked in different colors and patterns, representing each country in the world that faces wars and conflicts. From Mali, Myanmar, the Republic of Congo or Ukraine, the end of wars was a central theme.
