STCP announces special timetables for St John's Day

See which lines will be reinforced or changed for the night of St John's Day.

With the arrival of the longest night of the year in the city of Porto, STCP has announced a special operation for the night of São João, from 23 to 24 June.

The company has announced that transport to the city centre will be reinforced, facilitating access to the São João festivities, which mainly take place in downtown Porto.

See below for the changes announced by the company.

Bus mode

Terminations at Rua da Restauração (next to Hosp. Sto. António) for lines 200/ 501/ 507/ 601/ 602/ 1M/ 12M/ 13M

- Campo Alegre route with a 30-minute frequency every night and early morning, provided by lines 200 (Bolhão-Cast. Queijo) and 1M (Aliados-Matosinhos Praia).

- Carvalhido/ Monte dos Burgos/ Moreira da Maia route with a 30-minute service every night and early morning until Guardeiras, guaranteed by line 602 in the outward direction (Cordoaria-Airport Via Padrão Moreira) and, in the return direction, by line 3M (Airport-Aliados).

Terminations at Trindade for lines 600/ 4M/ 3M

- Eixo de Antero de Quental/ Amial/ Ponte da Pedra with a frequency of 12.5 minutes, between Ponte da Pedra and the centre of Porto, between 9pm and 1am, with Line 600 (Cordoaria-Aeroporto via Mar Shop). The frequency to the centre of Maia will be around 25 minutes.

During the early hours of the morning, Line 600 will be articulated with Line 4M between Ponte da Pedra and the centre of Porto:

- Line 4M (Aliados-Maia Câmara) - 15-minute frequency between 1am and 2.30am.

- Between 2.30am and 6am, the connection between the centre of Maia and the centre of Porto is provided by lines 600 and 3M, with 30-minute frequencies.

- Line 3M (Aliados-Aeroporto) - 30-minute frequency, between 0.30am and 6am.

Terminals at Rua do Bolhão for lines 502/ 701/ 702/ 5M

- Eixo de Sta. Catarina/ Costa Cabral/ Afonso Henriques/ Alto da Maia with a 15-minute frequency throughout the night and early morning:

- line 701 (Bolhão-Codiceira) and line 702 (Bolhão-Travagem) every 30 minutes between 8pm and 1.30am.

- Line 5M (Aliados-Ermesinde Estação) - Offered every 15 minutes between 0.30am and 6am.

Terminals at Rua Sá da Bandeira for lines 401/ 700/ 800/ 801/ 305/ 7M/ 8M / 9M

- Bonfim/ S. Roque/ Gondomar axis with a 15-minute frequency, between 8pm and 1.30am, provided by lines 800 (Bolhão-Gondomar) and 801 (Cordoaria-S. Pedro da Cova).

- Bonfim/ S. Roque/ Alto da Serra/ Valongo axis with a 45-minute frequency throughout the night and early morning, provided by lines 700 and 7M:

- Line 700 (Bolhão-Campo) every 45 minutes between 9pm and 1.30am.

- Line 7M (Av. Aliados-Valongo) every 40 minutes between 0.30am and 6am.

- Line 9M (Aliados-Gondomar via TIC) every 60 minutes between 0.30am and 6am.

Changes to lines from Vila Nova de Gaia

STCP lines operating in the municipality of Vila Nova de Gaia will stop at Av. da República, next to Gaia Town Hall, from 10pm, via R. General Torres, R. Daniel Serrão, Av. República.

- Eixo Vila D'Este/ Sto. Ovídio/ Gaia Shopping) with a 15-minute frequency, between St. Ovídio and Vila D'Este, provided by line 907 (Boavista-Vila D'Este), between 9pm and midnight, maintaining the normal 45-minute service to Gaia Shopping.

- The Av. República/ Sto. Ovídio/ Vila D'Este route with a 20-minute service between Gaia City Hall and Vila D'Este, between midnight and 3am, and a 40-minute service until 6.30am, provided by line 10M (Av. Aliados-Vila D'Este).

- Line 905 (Bolhão-Monte da Virgem) will run for 40 minutes between 9pm and 1am, adjusting the route to the new terminus (Câmara de Gaia).

Lines that will be cancelled

Due to the traffic restrictions, some STCP lines will have their services restricted and may be cancelled from 20:00 onwards. These are line 403 (Boavista Casa Música-Campanhã), line 500 (Pç. Liberdade-Matosinhos Mercado), line 900 (Cordoaria-Sto. Ovídio), line 904 (Bolhão-Coimbrões) and line 11M (Hosp. S. João-Coimbrões).

- The other bus lines operate according to their usual offer, both for the night service and the early morning service.
