Terminal 24 de Agosto to close in November

The Campo 24 de Agosto Bus Terminal will close, reports the Porto Canal

The information agency states that from 22 November buses will no longer work from this station.

The operation that currently runs from the Terminal of Campo 24 de Agosto, by Rede Expressos will move to the Intermodal Terminal in Campanhã, after signing the protocol between the bus company and the Porto City Council. STCP and Transdev are also expected to be included in this agreement, reports Porto Canal.

The news agency indicates that the news about the closure of Terminal 24 de Agosto was advanced to them by Transdev. "The company managing the space guaranteed that the station would not be operating "for much longer", since "the Porto City Council has a public plan that involves concentrating the transport flows to and from the city in a few terminals"".

It should be remembered that the Campo 24 de Agosto bus station has been operating for five years under the management of Transdev, as an alternative solution to the Garagem Atlântico, in Batalha. At the time of the inauguration, in 2017, the mayor Rui Moreira referred to the importance of the new terminal in solving the city's traffic problems.
