In the year that celebrates the centenary of Serralves Park, the Serralves Foundation is promoting the 9th edition of BioBlitz 2023

An event aimed at the educational community and the general public, which has the support of Lipor and associated municipalities.
The event is free of charge, but subject to mandatory registration. It will be held exclusively in a face-to-face format for the educational community during the week of 8 to 12 May, and for families and the general public during the weekend of 13 and 14 May. The BioBlitz provides knowledge of biodiversity through a diverse programme in Serralves Park.
It is an educational and scientific event of reference, which aims to promote education and awareness about biodiversity, environment and sustainability. It seeks to showcase the fauna and flora of Serralves Park, creating a contemporary narrative focused on sustainability and inspired by the Sustainable Development Goal of the 2030 Agenda "Protect Earth Life".
This event meets the main mission of the Serralves Foundation, which seeks to promote contemporary art, culture and education for sustainability.
The Foundation was created in 1989 and is responsible for the management of Serralves Park, Serralves House and the Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art, which is considered to be one of the most important contemporary art museums in Portugal. With a diversified cultural programme, the Serralves Foundation is a reference space for art and culture in Portugal.
