Total strike of CP train drivers coincides with paralyzation of CP and IP employees. Without minimum services, there is no guarantee of circulation of any train
Yesterday, February 9, it is unlikely that you managed to catch a train in Portugal. The 24-hour strike of CP's train drivers was joined by the paralysis of CP's employees and Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP), which manages the national rail network. As no minimum services were set by the Arbitration Court, there was no guarantee that it would be possible to use the train in their displacements throughout this Thursday.
Because they depend on IP employees to circulate between stations, this Thursday's strike also affected Fertagus trips, which makes the crossings between Rome-Areeiro and Setúbal over the 25 de Abril bridge.
For today, February 10, a 24-hour strike is also planned for CP's revisionists and ticket office workers, which is expected to have a strong impact on the circulation of trains. No minimum services are planned for this strike, which will be held in conjunction with a strike by the company's train drivers starting at 7:30 a.m. - in effect until February 16.
Those who have already bought CP tickets for regional, interregional, long-distance trains and the Celta (Porto-Vigo) may ask for the return or revalidation of the trips without paying fees. The request can be made at ticket offices or through this page.
