The Parish Council of Perafita, Lavra and Santa Cruz do Bispo, presented last Saturday, March 11, the winning project of the 1st Edition of the Participatory Budget and schedule for the 2nd Edition
"Together for Equality" was the winning project of the 1st Edition of the Participatory Budget of Perafita, Lavra and Santa Cruz do Bispo. The project promoted by Centro de Recreio Popular da Freguesia de Lavra (CRPF Lavra), was the winner, among the four finalists, and aims to promote social inclusion through sport.
The users of the Lavrense Association of Support to the Intellectual Disabled (ALADI) and Association of Support to Disabled Youth (AJJUDE), will attend sports activities such as futsal, boccia, dance and recreational therapy, and also participate in local and regional tournaments of sports. The technical staff of the CRFP Lavra, will streamline these activities, allocating financial resources and materials, to achieve the project's goal.
On this day, the calendar for the 2nd Edition of the Participatory Budget was also presented, which will start the period of submission of applications on April 1, 2023.
The Protocol signed by the President of the Parish Council, Lurdes Queirós, and the President of the Lavra CRPF, Nuno Teixeira, signs the partnership agreement under the Participatory Budget for the year 2023.
The Participatory Budgeting (PB) is a mechanism of participatory democracy that allows citizens to have the power of direct decision on the use of public money in the promotion and implementation of public policies. The Participatory Budget of the Parish Councils of Perafita, Lavra and Santa Cruz do Bispo aims to contribute to an inclusive and aggregative participation of the parishioners in the local governing process and ensure their participation in decisions on investments made by the Parish Council, in the northernmost territory of the municipality of Matosinhos, which represents a real correspondence between the real needs and the natural aspirations of the population. The axes of intervention see the presentation of projects in the scope of economic, social and environmental promotion.
