Unemployment rate rises to 6.4% in November, highest since July 2021

The unemployment rate rose to 6.4% in November 2022, the highest since July 2021 and compared to 6.0% in October and 6.2% in November 2021, according to provisional data released today by the National Statistics Institute (INE)



According to INE's Monthly Employment and Unemployment Estimates, "in November 2022 the unemployment rate increased to 6.4%, the highest value since July 2021, when it was 6.6%.

In November 2022, the INE estimates that the active population (5,198.4 thousand) had a decrease of 1.8 thousand people from the previous month (corresponding to a relative variation of almost zero) and that it increased by 0.5% compared to November 2021.
