Two years after the launch of its online store, accessible at shop.conservaspinhais.pt, Pinhais, a centennial cannery that maintains traditional production methods, has strengthened its presence in foreign markets

In addition to Portugal, the United States, Canada, Germany and Austria appear in the ranking of countries that most buy online, a top 5 geographies where most people consume artisanal preserves of the PINHAIS and NURI brands, known for their high quality and fresh and natural ingredients, designed for the whole family. The demand for the online store has been growing significantly, with June being the month in which the number of purchases almost doubled (47%) when compared to the same month last year.
With an exclusive offer that appeals to the palate of true canned food lovers, the products most in demand in the online store are NURI canned sardines, the most iconic brand, positioned for the export market, and Pinhais, the company's elite brand that brings the flavor of the sea to the table. Four traditional NURI brand recipes stand out in sales: sardines in olive oil and also with the spicy variant (for spice lovers), as well as sardines with tomato sauce and the spicy variant. As for the PINHAIS brand, demand focuses on the recipe for sardines in olive oil.
It should be noted that Pinhais is the only cannery in the country that maintains the traditional method in all its production. The artisanal process includes several key stages, 37 in total, which gives authenticity to the preserves. From the intensification of flavors in brine, to the manual cutting and preparation of all the fresh ingredients supplied locally, to the selection of only the best fish coming from the Atlantic coast, a process that concludes with canning which is fundamental for the conservation of the fish.
Patrícia Sousa, marketing director of Pinhais says "It was important for the company to invest in the Pinhais online store, given the growing number of orders from several countries. This way it's possible to guarantee that any consumer, anywhere in the world, has the opportunity to have a Pinhais canned food on his table, which is in line with the main role of the online store, that of immediate availability".
The responsible also highlights that "The online store has proven to be a great tool for proximity and knowledge of our consumers. If on the one hand we increase our notoriety, on the other we have at our disposal a direct channel for all our customers."
