Visits and competitions mark the sports weekend, with room for cultural events
Last weekend, a series of sporting activities and events took place, attended by the Mayor of Matosinhos, Luísa Salgueiro, the Councillor for Sports, Vasco Pinho, and the administrator of Matosinhos Sport, Henrique Calisto, among other personalities.
On Saturday, March 11th, the second free guided tour to the engine room of the municipal pool of Senhora da Hora took place. The goal is to show a small city of machines, as well as to clarify doubts and satisfy curiosities related to the heating and daily industrial treatment of millions of liters of water.
The next visits will take place in the swimming pools of Matosinhos (March 18) and Guifões (March 25).
Also on Saturday a visit was made to the facilities of the Sailing Center of Sport Clube do Porto in order to monitor the status of improvement works in the facilities to support sports activity as well as the repair of the pneumatic boat, interventions that have the financial support of the municipality.
Also on Saturday, a new vehicle was delivered to the Sports Group Basquete de Leça, in a ceremony held at the municipal pavilion of Leça da Palmeira (Bataria).
The van, with 9 seats, acquired with the support of the Municipality, will allow the travel of most of the 16 teams in activity.
Over the weekend, the Mar Shopping, in Leça da Palmeira, hosted the activity "Ser Cidade ... Ser Ténis", an action to promote the sport carried out by the Matosinhos Tennis Academy with various games and entertainment activities on a tennis court set up inside the shopping center.
Also in Leça da Palmeira, in the last three days, the main arena of the Equestrian Center of Porto and Matosinhos received another National Jumping Competition and School Competitions.
