Once again, the team responsible for the Multiple Sclerosis (MS) consultation at ULSM organized on May 30th — World Multiple Sclerosis Day — an initiative aimed at the community, with the aim of sharing experiences and raising awareness among the general public, involving people affected by multiple sclerosis. This year, the theme chosen by the MS International Federation (MSIF) was EM connections. Thus, the EM Conexões campaign aims to develop “connections to the community, connection to the self and connections to quality care”. The campaign motto is “I connect, we connect”, and the campaign hashtag is #ConexOnce again, the team responsible for the Multiple Sclerosis (MS) consultation at the ULSM organized the 30th of May — the World Day Multiple Sclerosis – an initiative aimed at the community, with the aim of sharing experiences and raising awareness among the general public, involving people affected by multiple sclerosis.

“Like other years, we want to contribute to this initiative, providing moments of sharing knowledge and experiences, with the aim of helping to combat the stigma that patients with this pathology deal with daily”, defends neurologist Filipe Correia who, in partnership , with nurse Teresa Torres, from Hospital de Dia, has energized these sessions, which this year focused on different initiatives. On the one hand, they involved the educational community, in this case the Escola Gonçalves Zarco, inviting students in the Health area to make publications alluding to World MS Day. On the 30th, the Consulta team went to the school to hold a clarification session on the disease, watching the presentation of the works, with the best ones having the right to publicize on the SPEM page. The second proposal was addressed to the ULSM services, inviting teams from the different services to take pictures with the image of the EM heart, to be shared on the ULSM social networks. “Because the awareness of health professionals in relation to the pathology is fundamental”, emphasizes.oesEM, as we also share in the social networks of the ULSM.
