Two more awards for Matosinhos

The City Hall of Matosinhos received two more awards inserted in the project "Matosinhos: Municipality Friend of Sport".

The awards were delivered during the seminars "Municipios Amigos do Desporto" (Friendly Townships of Sport) and "Autarquias Solidárias" (Solidarity Municipalities), promoted by Cidade Social, held yesterday within the scope of the International Literary Festival of Óbidos - "F(O)LIO".

Matosinhos received, by the hands of the Sports Councillor, Vasco Pinho, and of the executive director of Matosinhos Sport, Henrique Calisto, the certifications of the most recent recognitions - "Sports Complex of the Year 2022" and the revalidation of the "Senior Physical Activity Programme".

During the seminar, Matosinhos also shared, as examples of good practice, the Assessment and Nutrition Offices located in the facilities of the Municipal Swimming Pools of Matosinhos, a free service for all citizens, by appointment.

After a physical assessment by the Physical Exercise Technician, users can register for Nutritional Counselling. The nutritionist will analyse the client's eating habits and individual goals, and will draw up a dietary plan appropriate to each person's reality.

It should be recalled that the Social City is a programme involving 167 municipalities that share good sports practices through an online platform for providing and sharing information and good practices that aims to give visibility to the intervention of Portuguese municipalities not only in the area of sport, but also in the areas of youth and education.
